Any new government typically begins with a period of accelerated policy-making. We can expect digital technology – notably AI – and data to be linking threads throughout the emerging agenda. This is a great opportunity for DAMA UK to insert our community’s expertise, and a dose of professional realism, into all kinds of data-relevant policy from industrial strategy to health data ‘passports’. Join us for an exploration of government consultations, and how DAMA UK members, from all sectors and career stages, can help inform policy at the national scale.

DAMA UK turned 21 this year. To end what has been a very good year, we have invited a couple of our 2024 Committee members to join a panel in which we discuss what data management professionals have seen during the last 21 years and also to suggest what we are likely to see in the next 21 years. Please join us for these insights and thoughts from our panel members and post some of your own questions
AI Ethics has sprung up in discourse like a rabid whackamole. But what does it mean? And how do we align ethics with responsible AI adoption? What do we say to the cool kids who want to play with the shiny toys? What do we say to those lawyers who have just filed suit against us for copyright infringement and/or defamation? Join Daragh for a whistlestop tour through the bullshit bingo of AI Ethics in "AI Ethics and the Multiverse of Madness".
